International Student Merit Scholarships at University of Houston-Victoria 2024 In USA

International Student Merit Scholarships are open to all F-1 and J-1 VISA students studying at the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV). The scholarship provides a waiver in tuition fees, which would decrease the tuition fee which equals resident tuition. Other costs are not included in the scholarship.

Eligibility: 

International Student Merit Scholarship applicants must be enrolled full-time, meaning they must have completed a minimum of 9 credits for graduates and a minimum of 12 credits for undergraduates.
Prior to being accepted into the university, students must apply for the scholarship.
Recipients of spring semester scholarships are only awarded for the spring and summer terms; they must reapply for the fall semester.
possess a J-1 or F-1 status.
Transfer students need to be in good academic standing and have legal status.
Students need to show that they have achieved academically.
The application deadline is five days prior to orientation.
Throughout the scholarship program, candidates must maintain an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.5 and a graduate cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Candidates must contribute 10 volunteer hours every semester (fall and spring) to the UHV, Victoria community, showcasing/sharing their culture.

Applicants for International Student Merit Scholarships must pay all outstanding university bills on or before the due dates.
