Description For University of Auckland 2023:
A money left to the University by the late Mr. Charles John Bishop was used to start the Bishop Music Prizes in order to support the university’s study of musical composition.
Regulations:
- One Junior Prize of $1,000 will be awarded annually to the student who has received the highest mark in MUS 111 and who is continuing to study Composition in the year following the award.
- One Senior Prize of $1,000 will be awarded annually to the student who has achieved the highest mark in MUS 211 or MUS 311 and who is continuing to study Composition in the year following the award.
- A student who has been awarded the Junior Prize can subsequently hold the Senior Prize.
- The Prizes will be awarded by the Council on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Music .
