High school graduates who intend to attend a technical or liberal arts college and who also need financial assistance are eligible to apply for the Microsoft Disability Scholarship from Microsoft Corporation.

Eligibility: 

• Candidates applying for the Microsoft Disability Scholarship must be high school seniors with a disability as defined by WHO.
• Applicants must be planning to study an undergraduate program at a 2 or 4-year University/College or Technical College in the fall after high school graduation.
• The students must declare a major in computer information systems, engineering, law, business, computer science, or a related field.
• Candidates must have shown leadership at school and in the community and also possess a passion for technology.
• Applicants of the Microsoft Disability Scholarship must secure a high school cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
• The status of enrolment must either be full-time or half-time.
• Applicants should require financial support.

a formal sealed copy of the student’s most recent academic record
Two recommendation letters
Three pieces covering the following subjects:
Briefly describe your professional goals in the technology sector, technology law, or technology policy in less than 500 words. Briefly describe your financial needs in less than 250 words.
Give a brief explanation of how Microsoft can successfully and creatively enable people with disabilities in the workplace and in their everyday lives to realize their full potential using less than 500 words.

Benenfits: 

Each winner who continues to meet the criteria is eligible to receive an annual award of $5,000 for up to four (4) consecutive years for a potential total $20,000 scholarship. A total of eight (8) scholarships will be awarded.
