The fellowship provided by the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS) includes full funding, a stipend, healthcare benefits, and additional perks. Eligibility Criteria:
- Prior to starting the fellowship, candidates must have earned their advanced degree or degrees.
- Physicians and scientists with an MD, Ph.D., Sc.D., or an equivalent professional degree, or those pursuing one, are eligible.
- Successful applicants will typically be under 40 at the time of application; however, there may be exceptions in certain situations.
- Although postdoctoral research training must be completed in a European laboratory or clinic, citizens of any nation are eligible to apply to this program.
- Fellows must have completed no more than a year of postdoctoral training at the same mentor or host institution at the time of application. At the time of application, senior candidates may have no more than five years of postdoctoral experience beyond their final degree (Ph.D., MD, ScD, or equivalent).

- Only specific extraordinary circumstances, which must be noted during the application process, will be considered for fellowships lasting less than a year.

- Qualities and characteristics of the mentor and host organization for the planned fellowship

Benefits:
- The fellowship will provide each fellow with an annual salary of €55,000.
- The stipend is intended to cover the fellow’s living expenses; no increase in the cost of living is expected in the second year of a two-year fellowship stay.
- In addition to other benefits, the host institution is expected to provide healthcare coverage.
- The actual research that will be carried out there is expected to be supported by the mentor or host institution.
