Benefits of the University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF):

Successful applicants of the University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF) will receive the following benefits:

  • UMGF master’s awards are valued at $14,000 per year for 12 or 24 months, for up to a total of $28,000.
  • UMGF doctoral awards are valued at $18,000 per year for 12, 24, 36, or 48 months, for up to a total of $72,000.

Note:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Finance (MFin), and Master of Supply Chain Management (MSCM) are not eligible for the UMGF as these programs do not have a research/thesis component.

Application process:

  • The application process and deadline should be discussed with the department or unit.
  • Student recommendations are made to the Faculty of Graduate Studies once the department or unit makes its pick.
  • An official letter from FGS will be sent by email to the awarded winners.
