For applications to full-time or part-time graduate programs, there are two Oxford-Thatcher Graduate Scholarships available. In 2023–2024, applicants to programs in the departments of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics and Engineering are given precedence. to confirm that Somerville College accepts the course you intend to apply for.
About the scholarship:
The University and the Thatcher Development Programme at Somerville College are both contributing to the cost of the scholarship. From 1943 to 1946, the late Lady Thatcher got financial assistance from Somerville College Oxford to study chemistry. From 1979 through 1990, Lady Thatcher served as the first woman and the first scientist to hold the position of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Somerville College created the Margaret Thatcher Scholarship Trust in her honor after she passed away in 2013.
