Regulations for Sir Alexander Johnstone Prize in Law:
- The Sir Alexander Johnstone Prize in Law will be the name of the award.
- The Prize will be worth $2,700.
- Every year, the Prize will be given to the full-time LLB or LLB(Hons) student who has completed all required and elective law courses with the highest GPA up until Part III. The student should have attained a GPA of at least 7.00 as a minimum requirement. Should there be a tie, the student with the highest cumulative score shall get the Prize (see Note I).
- The University of Auckland Council will grant the Prize based on the Dean of the Faculty of Law’s proposal.
- Should there be a tie, the Faculty of Law Dean will decide whether the Prize can be divided.
- In the event that no candidate with adequate quality is found, the University of Auckland Council will not be required to make an award in any given year.
- As long as the primary goal of the Prize is not compromised, the University of Auckland Council may change or modify these rules.
Application Process:
Students are not required to fill out an online application or apply for this scholarship, award, or prize. It is given out based on the advice of the appropriate University of Auckland committee or faculty.
