The Nailekhanim Foundation (Azerbaijan) offers a renowned scholarship program, based on a competitive process, to a gifted female student who is dedicated to obtaining a post-graduate degree (Master’s or Doctorate). This program is available to all students, regardless of their citizenship or national origin. The Nailekhanim Foundation, a non-profit, was established in memory of Nailekhanim Isayeva, a co-founder of Dünya School and Khazar University. Nailekhanim was a well-known educator whose vision and determination contributed to both organizations’ growth. In recognition of her passion for and commitment to education, the Foundation was founded.

Eligibility criteria:

• Applicant Must be a female applicant
• Applicant must have an Outstanding academic record
• Applicant must have a Strong commitment to the chosen academic field
• Applicant must have a Passion for higher education and high-level academic research

Application process:

• Write a strong motivational essay* on the following topic: “Describe a situation or situations where you demonstrated or witnessed female leadership and how it made a positive difference”
• Possess the appropriate level of fluency in the English language to be able to conduct academic research
• Demonstrate proof of high-level academic merit, with a minimum A-, 90-92, or 3.7 (out of 4) of grade point average (GPA), or equivalent, depending on the grading scheme of the applicant’s previous university
• An essay is understood here as a short, analytic, interpretative, or critical literary composition dealing with its subject from a limited and often personal point of view (based on Britannica’s definition).
