At this time, submissions are being accepted by the NSP Slovak Republic. The National Scholarship Program was established in 2005 with approval from the Slovak Republic’s government to support Ph.D. students, university instruction, research, and creative mobility. The National Scholarship Program, or NSP, is funded by the Slovak Republic’s Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport. International students are encouraged to apply for fellowships at Slovakia’s higher education schools and research organizations by the National Scholarship Program of the Slovak Republic. Ph.D. candidates, college teachers, researchers, and artists are also encouraged to immigrate.

Eligibility Criteria for Scholarships from the Slovak Republic for International Students:

For Students Who Attend Colleges Outside of  Slovakia:

  • Students who have completed at least 2.5 years of university coursework in the same study program before the application deadline, or students who are already enrolled in a master’s program at the second level of higher education, are eligible to apply.
  • Students will be enrolled at a public, private, or state institution in Slovakia as part of their academic mobility throughout their higher education abroad.
  • All three requirements must be satisfied.
  • This category excludes doctorate studies. (or their equivalent).

For Ph.D. Candidates:

  • Applicants for the Doctoral degree who are accepted by a public, private, or state university or research institution in Slovakia are qualified to pursue a doctorate study program, as well as academic mobility to study, conduct research, or pursue creative interests while in Slovakia. One such possibility is the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
  • Professors, researchers, and artists from worldwide institutions have been asked by an entity having a Slovakian office and a valid certificate of eligibility to undertake research and development to spend time educating, conducting research, or making art in Slovakia.

  • Thorough study schedule (the applicant must mention the start date of his/her stay, the duration of the stay, a list of topics that he/she wants to study during his/her stay, and the number of credits that he/she will obtain for the various subjects).
  • 2 Recommendation Letters
  • Confirmation issued by the applicant’s home university confirming that the applicant is a regular student of the respective university at the time of
  • Scan of the applicant’s bachelor’s diploma, diploma supplement, and state examination certificate (if applicable).
  • Admission/invitation letter issued by the applicant’s host university in Slovakia indicating the period of stay.

  • Grounds for the applicant’s decision to engage in academic, teaching, research, or creative endeavors at the designated host institution in Slovakia.
  • Program of the candidate’s study, research, creative, or teaching stay, as well as how the applicant plans to apply the findings from his or her scholarship stay for future academic or research endeavors or professional advancement.
  • In the recommendation letters, the applicant’s professional and personal qualifications, as well as an evaluation of the scholarship program as offered, are discussed.

How to Apply for Scholarships from the Slovak Republic for International Students?

Applications for scholarships must be submitted online. At the very least six weeks prior to the entry deadline, the online application system will be accessible. Only after the online application system is functioning may applications be submitted. Before the deadline, the applicant must send the application online by filling out the web form, attaching any necessary documents in the format required, and clicking the “SEND” button. (the application can only be submitted if all fields are filled in and all required attachments uploaded) .
