About the Fellowship:
The UBC Faculty of Forestry’s Future Forests Fellowship aims to attract and retain world-class doctoral students by supporting students who demonstrate both leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement in graduate studies.
Eligibility:
Candidates must have the intention to do PhD research in one of the top areas listed below for the Faculty of Forestry.
British Columbia must serve as the location of at least some of the research, and the findings must have local relevance.
Students from abroad and domestically are both eligible to apply.
Applicants for the FFF program must have earned at least an A+ in each of their most recent two years of full-time study. All of the courses studied in a given year are used to determine GPA. At UBC, for instance, an A+ grade is defined as 90% or better.
Applications for the Future Forests Fellowship must include a completed application for the September 2023 intake of the UBC Forestry PhD program as part of the required documentation. Applicants must also meet the eligibility requirements for admission to full-time doctoral studies at UBC Forestry.
Benefits of the Fellowship:
$70,000 CAD annually for up to four years. The fellowship is intended to cover all expenses incurred in the preparation and conduct of research.
