The EDUFI Fellowship 2026 is available for PhD, Research Fellow, and Scientist degrees in any of the universities’ courses.

The deadline for submitting your application is January 31, 2026. This scholarship, which is partially funded by the Finnish National Board of Education, is worth EUR 1,900 a month. Everyone is eligible for this award, except Finnish nationals.

The EDUFI Fellowship’s main goal is to offer initial funding for PhD thesis research in Finland. We have attracted exceptional young researchers to Finland through the fellowship, and the majority of them have also been successful in securing further funding for their study.

• The candidate needs to be a representative of a Finnish university.
• The research fellow must be hosted by the applicant.
• The candidate and the research fellow must agree on shared goals.
