Job Description

We are looking for a content writer who is capable of creating exceptional content for our Blog posting of our News Website. The candidate will have an understanding of WordPress, knowledge of business web hosting, marketing and SEO, and the capacity to learn multiple content management systems.

This is an unusual job that requires a unique background:

You’re an exceptional researcher, too. The best writers are the most curious, and the most curious people love to research and learn.
You have a track record or way to demonstrate your irrational curiosity and knowledge about tech, celebrities, startups… You don’t necessarily have to have several years of experience or an expensive college degree, but we do need to see where you’ve been focused and what the byproduct of your focus has been.
You’re a team player. Your goal is to be part of a team that is building an enduring company supporting the next generation of amazing Founders. You’re not here to get famous just by working with famous people.

Essential Job Functions

• Research, create and deliver high-quality content to clients according to specified deadlines
• Edit the work of peers using editing marks and processes
• Work with account management to ensure that clients’ goals are achieved
• Virtually attend project, client and team meetings
• Track writing and editing production work on a daily basis in our in-house project management system
• Brainstorm and provide topics for clients monthly based on their creative brief and/or industry
• Communicate directly with clients

Skills and Requirements

• Excellent writing and editing skills. Applicants who provide relevant writing clips strongly preferred
• Extreme attention to detail
• Knowledge of AP (Associated Press) style
• Understanding of SEO keywords and concepts behind branded writing
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-oriented environment.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as a valuable member of a team
• Creative mind regarding a client’s brief/marketing goals
• Strong phone presence for client phone calls and interviews
• Ability to work with other departments in the company, such as account management, sales, social media, and other production departments, such as video and design.
