Description:

Applications for the Therle Drake Postgraduate Scholarship must be submitted by 15 November or 15 March of the year after—or the year the project is planned—respectively. All instrumentalists are welcome to apply, though a piano student may be given preference.

Eligibility for the Therle Drake Postgraduate Scholarship:

• Applicants must be enrolling or have enrolled for postgraduate study at Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington.
• Student should be attending a short course; or attending and/or participating in a concert and/or masterclass in Europe, North America or Australia.
• The scholarship is open to New Zealand citizens, permanent residents and international students.

Selection standards:

The candidate must be enrolled in or have completed postgraduate coursework at Te Kk New Zealand School of Music at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington, and they must continue to maintain a strong GPA.

Documents required:

• A personal statement outlining the project and its benefit to applicant’s career plans.
• A detailed budget.
• Copies of any communication with the host person(s) or organization(s) overseas.
• A reference from the principal supervisor .
