Masters degrees in business and economics are eligible for the Amsterdam Merit Scholarship (AMS) 2024–2025. Your application must be submitted by November 1st, 2025. The University of Amsterdam is offering this scholarship, which is worth full funding, tuition costs, and a stipend of EUR 5,000. Non-EU nationals are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
The University of Amsterdam offers a limited number of scholarships for master’s programs to highly talented applicants from outside the EU. Our aim with the scholarships is to support deserving students in their projects and assignments. We aim to draw the most talented students from around the globe into our international classrooms. International students can apply for the Amsterdam Merit Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria:
- The candidate must not be a citizen of the EU.
- Excellent academic performance in the top percentile is required of the applicant.
- The candidate cannot be the recipient of a Dutch study loan or grant.
- A full scholarship cannot be awarded to the candidate for the same time as the AMS grant.
- Before January 15th, the candidate must submit a completed application to one of UvA Economics and Business’s Master’s programs.
The scholarship’s value:
